Abstract :
A development of a vibration absorption scheme called the delayed resonator is presented. In this work torsional applications are taken into account rather than the translatory oscillations. A natural measurable state for rotating systems, angular velocity, is fed back with a controlled time delay. The dual frequency resonance concept is also introduced for this structure. Analytical and experimental highlights are stressed to show how the concept of the delayed resonator can be adapted to an electric drive setting. Stability analysis for the entire system is also reviewed, from design and operational safety points of view. Encouraging proximity of analytical and experimental findings are reported.
