  • Abstract
Automatic control represents one of the most important factors responsible for the efficiency and reliability of wind power conversion systems. However parametric uncertainties, disturbances, and actuation failures may limit the efficiency of a variable speed turbine. In this work, we develop an adaptive and fault-tolerant tracking control scheme capable of compensating the wind turbine parametric uncertainties, disturbances as well as actuation failures simultaneously. The control scheme is shown to be effective in coping with unexpected actuation faults without the need for analytically estimating bound on actuator failure variables. The proposed method is validated and demonstrated with Matlab/Simulink.
