Abstract :
Due to the recent needs for the expansion of renewable energy as sources of electrical energy, wind energy conversion is receiving widely used concept. The aim of this paper is to propose a control method for a doubly-fed induction generator used in wind energy conversion systems. The d-q model of the wound rotor induction machine, in rotor reference frame, is presented. The system is modeled and simulated in the Matlab Simulink environment. In order to control the power flowing between the stator of (DFlG) and the grid, a control law is synthesized using PI conventional combined with fuzzy controllers. These later are designed to tune along with the conventional PI-controllers for the control of active and reactive power of a wind-turbine operating under the wind speed change. Simulation results are obtained with the driving torque taking account of applied wind conditions. It is found that the PI parameters of this controller do not affect the desired power. The generated power is optimized whereas the reference power was tracked and the power-factor of operation was nearest to the unity. One shows that the machine parameters variations affect the system operation and their taking account contribute to improve the generated power. The obtained results were validated with other researchers using other strategies.
