End-2-end cold chain supervision based on an internet of things architecture

This paper discusses the architecture and prototypical implementation of a cold chain supervision scenario that spans both the supply chain and the monitoring of products in a brick and mortar retail environment. The scenario demonstrates how information about physical entities is gathered by different, self-describing sensing devices that exchange information with an enterprise backend system and provide alerting and accountability functionalities.
