Abstract :
In this paper, the GRASS-RaPlaT open source radio planning tool is described. The tool is composed of GRASS modules calculating radio coverage prediction using different radio channel models, module considering the influence of antenna radiation pattern and module for calculating and storing the complete radio network coverage. The implemented modules have been analyzed in terms of processing time with respect to the accuracy of the obtained results. The module outputs have been compared to the results obtained from other tools (e.g. TEMS) and to the field measurements, provided by Telekom Slovenia.
