Abstract :
The paper develops new control methods for an electric drive with a significant friction and a flexible shaft connecting the motor and the load. The proposed controller is based on adaptive backstepping approach. Several experiments prove the control effectiveness and robustness against unmodeled dynamics. Several rules for design parameters tuning are proposed and practical aspects of controller implementation are discussed.
