  • Abstract
The paper deals with the modelling of Intelligent Walls, i.e. building walls that are capable of providing real time control of propagation in indoor environments. The Intelligent Wall is a metalized wall equipped with an Intelligent Wall Unit allowing the wall to change its electromagnetic properties in real time. The wall parameters are pre-calculated using CST Microwave Studio and then employed in a radio-wave propagation model based on the modified Ray-Launching method. The crucial part of the algorithm, the interaction between a ray and an Intelligent Wall is explained in detail. The structure of the Intelligent Wall Unit is briefly described and coverage calculations in a sample scenario are presented.
