Abstract
In signal analysis techniques their time-frequency localisation properties are an important consideration. This paper presents another definition of time-frequency resolution. It introduces a class of causal windows, called /spl Gamma/, and gives their basic properties. A comparison of these and the well-known windows in terms of their time-frequency resolution properties is given. It is concluded that the /spl Gamma/ window has a good time-frequency resolution.
