Abstract
Several methods for the DC voltage control of voltage (boost) type AC/DC power converters are known. They differ in the performance and the complexity of used hardware/software. One of the basic requirements also included in control method is nearly sinusoidal input (AC) current with unity power factor. The aim of this paper is to present an easy to implement method for the control of active AC/DC power converters. It is based on the combination of adaptive hysteresis and predictive current fixed frequency current (PCFF) control. For the fast and accurate response of output voltage load, feedforward control is included. It controls the output voltage, ensuring the unity power factor and minimal harmonic distortion of both current and voltage at the input of the power converter.
