Abstract
In this paper the main aspects of usage Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) in the domain of Evolved Packet Core (EPC) virtualization are given. Modern virtualization technologies in combination with existing tools for storage and computing, ensure virtualization and abstraction for the entire set of critical resources. The general aim of NFV is to deliver functions, networks and infrastructure as services rather than as features of vertically integrated systems. Virtualization of EPC components using NFV approach can provide capacity support for mobile broadband services with high level of performance. For operators, the return on investment associated with migrating network services to the cloud comes in the form of a high degree of automation in network operation.
