Ampacity application considerations for underground cables

Underground power cables are routinely used in many types of electrical power systems. In many cases, unique considerations and analysis are required in determining the ampacity of underground cable applications. This paper examines these considerations in low and medium voltage electrical systems and provides examples of actual system applications.
