Understanding technological dynamics of knowledge influence between university and industry

To increase the effectiveness of national innovation system, the linkage between university and industry, as the two important stakeholders, should be enhanced to motivate national level innovation. The objective of this study is to exam the linkage between university and industry by the use of patent citation. The dynamics of influences from university to industry or from industry to university are both analyzed. Also, the influence which varies as function of industrial type is also investigated. It is observed the influence from university to industry is increasing, but the influence from industry to university is decreasing. The results obtained in this study can be served as evidence to evaluate how effectiveness knowledge influence can be between university and industry.
