Abstract :
The paper describes the proposed method for Enhancement of Unambiguous DOA Estimation range using difference in angle between delta and sum channels of Phase Comparison Monopulse (PCM) for broad beam width in case of Radar application. The proposed method requires no hardware changes nor any complex computation or complex processing as compared to the methods discussed in section V. The paper also highlights the advantage of proposed method over the conventional DOA estimation which uses the monopulse ratio or the phase difference between the two receive channels. The proposed method has been simulated for different baseline separation, different beam width and for different DOA. The proposed method gives the unambiguous estimate of direction of arrival of the target till the baseline separation is lambda rather than half lambda which is often the case for high precision measurement. The same can be applied to other antennas with minor modifications.
