Abstract :
Cardiogenic shock is a life-threatening medical condition with mortality rates of 70-90%,which can be reduced to 40-60% with aggressive and immediate treatment. The aim of this paper is to design wireless transmission system with a three lead ECG, temperature and pulse meter for the use in ambulance during life threatening conditions like cardiogenic shock. There is a need for a system which can serve the purpose of immediate intimation to the hospitals and timely diagnosis of the victim. In such cases ECG become the most vital parameters, and they give information about the current cardio-activity of the patient. The ECG measuring instruments available today are expensive and hence we need to design an economical system. The patient has to be continuously monitored and the data has to be immediately sent to the doctor in the hospital to analyze and suggest any first aid, which will help the crew in the ambulance to take necessary action according to the doctor´s suggestion. Also, the doctors at the hospital are informed of the severity of condition of the patient and hence can make appropriate preparations for the treatment, particularly in cases of life-threatening circulatory shock. Thus, considering all the design challenges, a health monitoring system has been designed using arduino to acquire the signals and wireless RF modules to transmit the acquired signal.
