Abstract :
Currently, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) require high bandwidth of in-vehicle application. Ethernet has attracted attention for using in-vehicle networks because it provides 100Mbit/s bandwidth. However the legacy Ethernet cannot guarantee Quality of Service (QoS) for in-vehicle networks because priority is not provide. IEEE802.1Q (802.1Q) and IEEE802.1AVB (AVB) of the IEEE802 Ethernet standard has the prioritization mechanism, but it is different. The legacy work analysis the guarantee of QoS for 802.1Q and AVB in a simulation environment. In our study, we compare the guaranteed QoS for 802.1Q and AVB according to the prioritization mechanism for the in-vehicle network environment that is implemented with the embedded systems. Then we verify that the traffic type is performed according to prioritization mechanism of AVB and 802.1Q.
