Abstract :
A simple, low cost and compact u-shaped antenna is proposed for UWB application with WLAN band notched characteristics. Band notched characteristics can be obtained by introducing two L-shaped slot and symmetrical step slot at the edge of the rectangular ground plane. The structure is designed on low cost FR4 substrate having dimensions 0.623λ×0.513λ×0.0293λ millimeter cube .The proposed antenna has S11 ≤ -10dB over 3.11-5.1 GHz and 5.93-11.79 GHz.
