Abstract
The coating ice of transmission lines will seriously devastate the safety of electric power system. In order to obtain a relatively reliable dynamic prediction of the thickness of coating ice, this paper designs an online monitoring system based on the method of grey prediction model and real-time graphs to monitor the thickness of the transmission line. Based on the latest data, the parameters can be modified by the method of grey prediction. Meanwhile the grey prediction model can be adjusted by compensation method to make a more precise prediction on the thickness of coating lines for next time. The coating ice thickness curve is drawn using Matlab in the end. A field test is operated to demonstrate the feasibility and accuracy of the system in lab.
