Abstract :
In this paper, we present a wide operating range quadrature phase injection locked frequency divider. In this divider, tunable parallel coupling between its two stages is used, with the option of polarity reversal, to achieve a very wide operating frequency range. In addition, series coupling is used to ensure that the divider is always operating in its dominant mode, which guarantees requirement of low injection power. The divider is designed in a standard 65 nm CMOS (low leakage) process. Simulation results show that the divider can operate over the frequency range of 54GHz to 71GHz.
