Abstract
An omnidirectional dielectric resonator antenna of cuboid shape is designed for LTE femtocell base station. The dielectric antenna resides above a FR4 substrate, and is fed by a coaxial probe at the center of the antenna. This proposed antenna is appropriate for Long term evolution (LTE) band 7 (2500-2570 MHz, 2620-2690 MHz) and LTE band 38 (2.57-2.62 GHz), the impedance bandwidth is 236 MHz. The cuboid dielectric resonator antenna is made of a ceramic compound with a high dielectric constant of 30. The optimized design of the antenna is obtained through extensive simulations using CST Microwave Studio.
