Abstract
The effect of ultraviolet (UV) wavelength on path loss for different ranges in none-line-of-sight (NLOS) ultraviolet communication system is investigated in this paper. The UV atmospheric channel model is modified with Modtran software on the basis of multi-scattering model, and a numerical simulation of path loss is performed at wavelength 260nm. The simulation results show a better agreement with measurements. The relationship between path loss and range at different wavelengths with configured system geometries is investigated and a general method of wavelength selection is proposed to reduce path loss according to communication range.
