Abstract :
In this paper, a novel reduced-complexity near-optimal detection algorithm is proposed for Generalized Spatial Modulation (GSM) system. The proposed Geometric Decoding (GD) based transmit antenna index separation (GD-TAS) detector includes the transmit antenna (TA) index detection and the GD based transmitted signal detection for GSM system. For the traditional detector such as Maximum Likelihood (ML) detector, detects the TA index and the transmitted signal at the same time, which leads to high complexity. Detecting the TA index separately can efficiently reduce the complexity. Then we use GD to further reduce the complexity by decreasing the lattice points that need to be searched. Results show that the GD-TAS algorithm can achieve near-optimal BER performance compared with ML detection while significantly reducing the complexity.
