Abstract :
This paper introduces a new low power wireless sensor network technology - Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). The BLE wireless communication is not only very low power consumption, but also it can be very easy to cooperate with smart terminators (smart phones and tablet PCs). In this paper, we estimate the power consumption of the BLE and report some BLE applications we are developing, including a wearable health thermometer and SMoB (Smart Manufacturing over BLE) technology for industrial 4.0.
