Abstract :
This paper introduces a novel model predictive control method for a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle using for commuting. The new features of this study are as follows: (1) the optimal battery state of charge obtained from dynamic programming is used for set points of vehicle control, (2) the trip distance information is modelled in the model predictive controller. Effectiveness of the proposed control method is validated on a vehicle simulator provided by the JSAE-SICE benchmark problem 2.
