  • Abstract
For driver assistance system design and model based vehicle development, what kind of concept and property are required for a driver model have been studied from published literatures. A driver model requires driving skill level parameters because human drivers have various skill levels. The skill level can be raised with proficiency and sometimes changes with environment change. A model framework and a concept to represent skill level are proposed. A mechanism that ensures systematic learning is introduced and learning process is illustrated with a driving agent model. Finally, an extended human body concept is introduced to explain unconscious operation as skill being acquired.
