Abstract
The paper presents an application of the PID-fuzzy hybrid controller on two laboratory experimental plants; level and temperature controls are observed. Identified models were used for tuning of the PID controller. In the presence of disturbance, the PID control results with overshoot and long recovery time. In order to reduce the computational efforts, the Sugeno type fuzzy controller was used as a fuzzy compensator. The rule base and membership functions in the fuzzy compensator were simultaneously optimized by genetic algorithm. Experimental results with hybrid control are presented.
