Abstract :
With the deployment of advance metering infrastructure (AMI) worldwide, millions meter data are inflowing to the meter data management system (MDMS). The large and ever-continuing AMI data challenge the MDMS as an online system to simultaneously import AMI meter data to the system as well as distribute meter information to various utility applications. To address this challenge, this paper proposes a multi-threaded AMI data pre-storing VEE (validation, estimation, and editing) approach and an event-based infrastructure to efficiently import and distribute meter information. The effectiveness of the solution is validated against scenarios extracted from practical utility applications.
