Abstract
This paper introduces the application of Taguchi method to find the optimal allocation of distributed generations (DGs) in distribution network to minimize feeder power losses. The proposed method employs an orthogonal array (OA) to obtain optimal siting and sizing of DGs. The factors of OA are tuned by executing factorial design of experiments iteratively to optimize the objective function. The developed algorithm is investigated on IEEE 33-bus test distribution system and the obtained results are promising when compared with other established methods.
