Abstract :
This paper seizes the opportunity of the massive deployment of smart meters in distribution networks and the development of the load shedding as a new advanced distribution automation function. It proposes a methodology to optimize the load shedding in distribution networks in order to avoid the congestion of the conductors. The effects of rebound and report of the load shedding are highlighted and then taking into account in the optimization. Then specifications are given to perform load shedding, in terms of power and duration of flexibility. It is compared with the classic and structural solution of reinforcement of the network. The costs of the reinforcement are given as a limit for the competitiveness of the load shedding.
