Abstract
In this paper, an effective closed loop reference current extraction topology for single phase active power filter applications, is proposed. The main idea of the proposed topology is based on the Adaptive Transversal Filter (ATF) principle. The adaptive filter is designed and optimized using genetic algorithm (GA). The proposed methodology is simulated and tested in MatLab software. The results indicate the ability of the method to extract harmonics, inter-harmonics and noise in case of stationary and non-stationary situations. Moreover, it shows a robust detection performance under transient of supply frequency.
