Abstract :
A resonant kicker magnet system[1] is being developed as part of electron beam switching system[2] of Swiss Free Electron Laser[3] (SwissFEL) at Paul Scherrer Institute. In order to deliver stable electron bunches to the two experimental stations, a high stability electron beam deflection system is required. The resonant kicker magnet is a key element of the deflection system and dominates the stability performance. A prototype MOSFET driver, kicker magnet and monitoring system were developed. The kicker magnet current amplitude jitter can be measured with resolution better than 3 ppm. Performance of the prototype resonant kicker and the precision measurement system are presented.
