Abstract :
In this paper, a simulation model of an electromagnetic rail launcher system based on PSpice software is applied, in consideration of multi-physics factors, such as current skin effect, contact pressure and contact resistance on the contact surface of the armature and the barrel, velocity skin effect, friction drag and temperature coefficient of resistivity. Analyses were made on the effects of various factors to the system, by means of making comparisons between the simulation results for the case that all the probable factors making sense and the ones with one of the factors neglected. Meanwhile, simulations were made based on the improved model to analyze the energy distribution. Last but not least, according to the analyses of the novel simulation model, methods to increase the efficiency of the system were put forward according to simulation results.
