Abstract :
Flash X-ray generation has been carried out at KALI 30 GW system at 500 kV, 20 kA for 80 ns pulse duration. This Flash X-ray source was used to study the penetration of X-rays through the Stainless Steel 304L blocks of various thicknesses. X-ray dose measurement was done using optically stimulated luminescence dosimeters. These X-ray penetration experiments were repeated with image plates to get a variation in transmitted X-ray intensity. Results obtained from Image Plates and Optically Stimulated Luminescence Dosimeters were compared and radiation penetration length for SS was calculated. The radiographs recorded with FXR were compared to that obtained using neutrons.
