Abstract :
Determining the correlation and regression is a statistical method applied when several random variables are simultaneously being measured on the same statistical sample and if their interdependency is being investigated. The correlation and regression between random variables of the pre-breakdown current and breakdown voltage of the vacuum switchgears has been investigated in the paper. The switching operations leading to welding and disconnection of closed contacts have been the parameters. The investigations have been carried out under well controlled laboratory conditions on commercial vacuum switchgears with CuCr contacts.
