  • Abstract
    The disadvantages of general background image extraction algorithm are complex in operation and poor realtime. A novel background image extraction algorithm of the traffic scene was proposed which combines inter frame difference and selectively statistics. Through inter frame difference and selectively statistics, effects of moving vehicles to the background image was weakened. Experiments show that the new algorithm can extract background image rapidly and effectively.
