Abstract :
NAT-PT is one of the most important technologies that can realize the communication between IPv4 network and IPv6 network. From the requirements of NAT-PT, we implement a Ultralin NAT-PT platform based on embedded Linux system. The bandwidth and latency of Ultralin NAT-PT system between IPv4 and IPv6 are tested, and the performance of the gateway is analyzed in this paper. As a result, Ultralin system is steady but its v4v6 transition performance is lower. After using NAT-PT, the bandwidth is 5%, and the latency is 5-10 times which does not use the gateway. To find the key factors in poor performance, the average time spent on every function are studied via profiling technology, the hotspot functions and two bottleneck functions are found out in thesis.
