Abstract :
In this study, a bio-inspired structure is investigated for its vibration isolation potential as a passive component. With mathematical modeling and nonlinear analysis, it is shown that the structure can be effectively used for passive vibration isolation with a high-static-low-dynamic stiffness property and the isolation performance can be designed flexibly with several structural parameters. This potentially provides an innovative approach to a large spectrum of engineering practice for noise and vibration control.
