Abstract :
An original method to limit the accuracy decline of timing error estimation in fast frequency hopping/BFSK time tracking caused by the reduction of hops per time is proposed. The proposed method in a first step quickly reduces the timing error to a desired range by means of an improved damped oscillation algorithm. Then tracking is achieved by using maximum likelihood algorithm. The theoretical characterization of the tracking precision and upper bound of mode tracking time is given in the manuscript. Simulation results show the effectiveness and the feasibility of the proposed method.
