Abstract
Researches in techniques and technologies of indoor geo-localization are submerging location-based services. In this paper, we present a new fuzzy process for localization in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN). The proposed concept is based on creating a Fuzzy Location Indicator (FLI) to characterize the map of the target environment. The main contribution in this work consists on proposing a Fuzzy Localization System (FLS) that collects the Received Radio Signal Strength (RSS) from the anchors and proceeds to Interval-Type2 (IT2) Fuzzification process to reduce uncertainty of measurements. The proposed method is range-based and uses computational intelligence (CI) through fuzzy fingerprinting. The system proceeds to pattern matching between the RSS IT2 fuzzy sets and the FLI. Simulation results has proved higher success rate on linguistic localization using IT2 Fuzzy sets (FSs) than using Type1 fuzzy sets.
