Abstract :
In vehicular networks, the cooperation among nodes is required to traffic safety applications. This paper presents RS4VANETs, a decentralized reputation system that aims to guarantee the proper operation of a data dissemination application (Local Danger Warning - LDW) even in the face of malicious nodes. Experiments with traffic and network simulators were executed to prove the effectiveness of proposed reputation system and the impacts of its use in an LDW application for highway.
