Abstract :
Extremely growing trend in number of people using mobile Internet and wireless network is recorded in last few years. The aim of this research is to propose a fuzzy decision making model for the selection of the best wireless network for students, using subjective judgments of decision makers. Criterias for the selection of the optimal wireless network in this paper are based on students´ online habits and Internet usage. Since there are more then one criteria for the selection of wireless network, multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) methods are needed to be used. Proposed approach is based on fuzzy AHP and TOPSIS methods. In our method first the fuzzy AHP is used for determining the weights of each criteria and priority values of wireless networks. Triangular fuzzy numbers are used in fuzzy AHP method for determining the benefits of one criteria to another. Then for determining the final ranking of the wireless networks TOPSIS method is used. The optimal wireless network would be the one that is farthest from the negative ideal solution and nearest to the positive ideal solution. The integration of fuzzy AHP and TOPSIS methods enables students to efficiently select a more suitable wireless network following their needs.
