Abstract :
In this paper, we propose an analytical framework for uplink effective Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise (SINR) analysis in LTE networks. Uplink Inter-cell Interference (ICI) is approximated with a lognormal distribution with statistical parameters being determined analytically. Then, we rely on log skew normal approximation to model the single-carrier SINR distribution. For effective SINR computation, the exponential effective SINR mapping (EESM) method is used. Closed-form expression for the link outage probability is achieved assuming a log normal approximation for exponential effective SINR. Simulations show that our approximations provide results with accuracy within 0.5 dB for any defined outage probability. The proposed framework is used to calibrate the power control compensation factor.
