Abstract
Adaptive Modulation and cooperative Diversity are considered as two of the most commonly deployed techniques for wireless communication, which aims to compensate the performance degradation and enhance the capacity as much as possible. In this survey, several studies and research works that were introduced in the literature will be investigated, aided by the followed methodology and main concepts in addition to the main outcomes and conclusions. A comparison will be held between these studies based on different criteria & performance metrics. An evaluation that investigates the effect of using AM with cooperative diversity in wireless communication system performance in terms of SE and throughput aided with improvement values will be introduced. Furthermore; some key points that may be considered by the wireless designers to obtain effective cooperative and AM communication scheme will also be highlighted.
