  • Abstract
The transient characteristics of the interface charges and the electric fields in the nonlinear/linear and nonlinear/nonlinear dielectrics under different amplitudes of dc step voltages and polarity reversal voltages are simulated using the software of Matlab-Simulink. The simulation results show that the interface charges and electric fields of the double-layered dielectrics not only relate with the materials properties, but also relate with the average electric field. For the interface between the nonlinear dielectrics with field enhanced conductivity, the establishing process of interface polarization will get faster and the polarity of interface charge will reverse as the average electric field gets higher. The maximum of the transient electric field under the polarity reversal DC voltage is significantly higher than the maximum of the transient electric field under the step voltage. Double nonlinear dielectrics with the approximate field enhanced conductivity can be used to reduce the influence of interface charges on the electric field distribution.
