Abstract
In this paper, the enhanced transmission properties of the periodic rectangular groove based on carbon nanotube film on the dielectric substrate have been investigated. The transmission spectra exhibit well-defined maxima of which the position are determined by the geometry of the hole array. The magnitude of the transmission peak increases from 0.02 to 0.09 for groove width of 15-25 μm, when the direction of electric field is along x-axis. There is also a distinct increase of the transmission peak with increasing rectangular groove period. The intensity of the transmission peak decreases rapidly with increase of nanotube film thickness from 2 to 10 μm. In addition, the direction of the electric field can also affect the transmission significantly because of the asymmetry of the rectangular hole array. These results can be used in the field of photonic devices.
