IEEE 1451 Based HART-Ethernet Interfacing

Nowadays industrial process control implies very specific requirements regarding data processing speed, communication protocols and device compatibility. Therefore, it seems to be necessary to develop new standardized devices or smart interfaces between legacy devices and the actual standards. The general trending in industrial process control using fieldbus devices is to introduce a fast network communication protocol based on the Ethernet structure which leads to the development of the IEC 61874 standard, targeting the interfacing of smart IEEE 1451 devices. In order to support the developer to integrate legacy devices in new industrial Ethernet environment, it is proposed an original smart IEEE 1451 compliant interface in order to connect HART devices to the Ethernet network.
