Abstract
As a high-tech industry, the development of the Internet of Things industry plays an important role in the industrial transformation and upgrading of a country. In light of the six elements of the “Diamond Model”, this paper constructs an indicator system to assess the competitiveness of the Internet of Things industry. Using a comprehensive evaluation method which combines Gray Relational Analysis and Technique with Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution, this paper investigates competitiveness of the IOT industry in eastern, central and western China. Based on the empirical results achieved, the paper puts forward some policy recommendations for the sustained development of the Internet of Things industry of China through exploring and innovating the comparative advantages of various regions.
