Abstract :
Antenna arrays are widely used in applications such as mobile networks, radar and other wireless communication systems. Traditional phased arrays, with uniformly spaced elements, are typically used in these applications as the design approach is straightforward and control of the elements in the array is well known due to the fixed, known physical location of each array element. However, other applications, especially those which use swarms or dynamically moving elements, warrant the use of random arrays, a design where the physical location of individual elements is not initially known and must be discovered to control the array.
