Abstract :
Luneburg lens is an attractive gradient index device for wide angle radiation scanning because of its broadband behavior, high gain and ability to form multiple beams. Every point on the surface of an ideal Luneburg Lens is the focal point of a plane wave incident from the opposite side. The refractive index distribution of a spherical Luneburg Lens is given by Equation (1): equation (1) where n is the refractive index, R is the radius of the lens and r is the distance from the location to the center of the sphere.
