Abstract
Synchronous reluctance motors are utilized for optimizing availability and efficiency in a variable-speed multi-pump system. The sensorless-operated motor in combination with a precise machine model is used for state estimation of the complete multi-pump system. Based on the estimated state the system is continuously reconfigured to optimize performance. A probability density function is used to remove the inherent ambiguities in the available sensor data, using a Bayesian estimation approach. This approach is demonstrated in a test rig application of a hydraulic system.
