Abstract :
A novel dual band PDMS based flexible antenna for wearable application is presented in this paper. The antenna is fabricated on 2 mm Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) flexible substrate. The proposed design has 0.035 mm thick copper radiating and ground patch. The design has an overall size of 24 by 16 mm with return loss below -10 dB between 2.42 to 2.52 GHz and 3.1 to 5.2 GHz. Hence, the antenna can operate at two frequency bands. The antenna design and simulation demonstrated its low sensitivity to bending effects. Therefore, the antenna is suitable for the wearable application and integration into flexible electronic systems and flexible ICs.
